Being in business for a long time has made me realize that there are considerable differences between entrepreneurs who are successful and who are not. So I decided to make a list of the top ten ways and share some of the important insights with you… Successful business owners are always great learners. They are always keen to know the ins and outs of their trade and research all possible angles of their venture. They invest on reading relevant materials, pursue useful courses, make a point to be present at seminars and never forgetting to study the competition around in their industry as well as in others. Or, in the words of Jim Rohn, “Rich people have big libraries; poor people have big TV’s.” They can discern the power of delegating and outsourcing and you can hardly find a millionaire who has achieved success all by themselves. Most have been surrounded by remarkable workers and colleagues who were not only reliable but also have a fair amount of contribution to those success stories. Effective time management is quite a prized possession with the entrepreneurs and we are always aware of the common saying that time is money. Calculating the value of every minute of your day or the time you actually spend being productive versus busy are the common topics that jostle for space and once you start taking notice, I guarantee you’ll change the way you use your time. The business owners are more focused on accomplishing tasks that actually make money. You can hardly find someone who does his own filing or bookkeeping or web design as these tasks can be hired out at a fraction of the cost. Instead they are keen on setting their priorities and staying focused on the bigger picture that generate revenue or grow their business. Outstanding entrepreneurs are always on the pursuit of opportunities and take immediate action as results depend on the type of action being taken-bigger actions produce bigger results compared to the smaller actions which end up in smaller outcomes. Entrepreneurial action is extremely vital and always an indispensable tool. Entrepreneurs are risk seeking and they never deter from taking calculated risks fearing failures as there is no guarantee that whether a business venture involving a product, service or a program would be successful. They have to be risk takers in the face of uncertainty. Small business owners are keen to improve their products or services whereas big players are always on the move, never stopping to rest on their laurels and always looking ahead for further expansion and making their presence felt in the new, virgin markets. Although successful entrepreneurs stay productive but they usually do not get involved in the day to day running of their business. They are very much at work – setting objectives, looking for possibilities to reach set goals, creating systems to manage workflow, leading and motivating employees and keeping contractors on track. The business owners are always aware of the marketability of their ideas and constantly monitor the numbers so that they can avoid losses. They usually don’t get emotionally attached to their ideas and if they incur losses from their ventures they figure out an alternative and immediately look for a change. Entrepreneurs earning six and seven figures follow a systematic pattern and are absolutely methodical when it comes to growing their businesses. They have set goals and they organize the going according to their goals which ultimately lead them to success. If you are aiming to make it big and achieve great success then it will be a wise decision to follow in the footsteps of those who have already tasted triumph. You can always follow these ten ideas.
